What should we do when sublimation curl in the printing process?

   

    In the sublimation transfer process, we often encounter paper curl problem, this is a headache, not only waste time, but also delay the printing process, increase costs.If it seriously affects the printing effect, may lose the customer, this question we must take seriously.Here are some tips for us to summarize.
    In the operation sublimation printing, we need to use sublimation printer to transfer the pattern to sublimation paper, and then through heating,transfer pattern on the sublimation paper  onto the garment or other substrate, so high quality sublimation paper is very important. The sublimation paper curl is always a headache problem in sublimation printing process. If it does not have high quality, your inkjet printer will be damaged during the printing process. In addition, the printing effect is poor during the operation.

   Here are some of the main causes of curl
1.Air drying digital image color too deep.
2.The humidity of the paper too high or too low.
3.The sublimation ink is too much.
4.No coating at the back of paper
5.The widest the paper is the easiest to crimp.

   Here are some solutions to help you 

1.Use high quality sublimation paper

    Advanced sublimation transfer paper using good sublimation base paper (not offset). The base paper is made of natural wood pulp (cork and hardwood), fiber length is longer  and more flexible than offset paper. Therefore, performance and scalability are better and help reduce the likelihood of curl.

2.Anti-curl coating

   Base paper has two sides: felt surface and wire surface.

The smooth surface of the base paper is usually the felt surface. The web side of the base paper is usually considered to be coarse. Sublimation transfer paper is usually only printed on one side. Therefore,need only have a side with coating to receive and fixes sublimation ink.  So the smooth side will be coated with a sublimation coating. The wire side can be coated or not.

   However, if the paper is coated on one side only, the structure is unstable and balanced ,then causes the paper curl tendency to increase.Therefore, the second method of preventing the problem of curling is to coat the functional coating on the wire side. Functional coatings, also known as anti-curl coatings, provide enhanced stability of sublimation transfer paper.
