Limitations of Digital Printing

1.Large Volumes Cost More
    Large capacity digital printers are more expensive. Because traditional printers run 300 to 500 feet per minute, they can quickly output large quantities. By contrast, the speed of digital printers is between 15 and 50 feet per minute. In contrast, the speed of a digital printer is between 15 and 50 feet per minute.
Compared with other printers, the maintenance cost of digital printers is relatively high, and keeping the cost of printer updating and complete operation undoubtedly increases the cost of the company.
2.Color / Ink Limitations
     In most cases, digital printing can copy most of the color gamut, but there are some limitations, because most digital printing is copied from CMYK.The digital press can actually print CMYK a little better than a traditional flexographic label press. But there are some limitations on duplicating spot colors.Although you have access to an incredible colour palette with digital printing, this type of printer cannot handle metallic inks.In direct sunlight, all sublimation inks will eventually fade, but digital inks do tend to fade faster than others.  There is the option of a UV Inhibitor lamination, although many times the printed surface needs to be updated before the ink gets a change to fade anyway.
